9 Brands & Trends to Fall For This Winter

Fall is in full swing and as we relish in the great in-and-outdoors, designers have clearly understood the assignment.

For Autumn/Winter ‘21/22 an array of sustainable options are emboldening us to go out dancing again, dine in style and brave the elements.

We round up the top trends and sustainable brands to consider for your next winter rendez-vous.

1. Midis

Midi skirts and dresses have continued to dominate for Fall. Wear them slit pleated, A-lined, or flowy — just make sure they hit just below the knee.

Greek designer Stefania Vaidani, launched her label in 2018 with the goal of creating thoughtfully designed, high-quality clothing at an affordable price. Stefania Vaidani prioritises sustainability and 99% of her collection is made from recyclable fabrics, including fastenings and buttons.

2. Knitwear

Knitwear is a cold winter must and there’s nothing cosier than pulling on a chunky crew neck on a sharp December morning.

Ssone handles slow fashion in the best possible way. All of Ssone’s pieces such as blazers, dresses and  even knee-high patchwork boots have been designed to meet many of our investment wardrobe needs - all while keeping the brand's ethical, organic and always considerate production methods at the forefront.

The trench coat is a classic, but this year is all about suiting it up.

4. Plisse pleats

Add to your Fall wardrobe plissé pleats. The flexible, textured appearance created by tiny, micro-pleats or folds is luxe but approachable.

Club Monaco has been serving incredible pleats since their inception. To meet their stringent environmental requirements, they have collaborated with industry experts. Their priority is to reduce waste and negative impacts from their supply chain by producing cashmere and polyester from recycled materials and repurposing deadstock and liability fabrics.

5. Cut-outs

A number of major brands have backed the cut-out comeback this season, mostly for evening wear. From slinky dresses to chunky knits, the cut-out trend is everywhere.

Nanuskha has grown in popularity since its inception in 2006, thanks to its clean-cut and classic designs that cleverly incorporate sustainability. Vegan leather, which has become their signature and core fabric, as well as tech satin, organic cotton and recycled cashmere, are all used by the brand.

6. Pastel tones

Shorts and skirts in neons and pastels are traditionally reserved for Spring. This season pastels have emerged as the pleasantly unexpected colour for Fall.

Bogdar is a partywear label that not only makes a statement with its style, but also leads the way in terms of slow fashion. Because the label places a high value on sustainability, all of Bogdar's pieces are still made in their family-owned facility in Vidin, Bulgaria, by a team of just 16 people.
